Imagine a lush ecosystem filled with flourishing trees, blossoming plants, and fertile soil. In it, lingers pure water, fresh air, and native species.
Beautiful isn’t it?
Although this image paints a wonderful picture, this is not always something we see on a regular basis. We humans have grown so accustomed to bare woodlands, dry soil, and natural calamites. Over the years, we have witnessed how Mother Nature is slowly dying with our harmful activities.
Well, one way to solve this problem is through ecological restoration.
Ecological restoration is the field of renewing destroyed ecosystem through various activities such as reforestation, revegetation, crop pollination, and reintroduction of native species. These activities are utilized to help sustain the integrity of the ecosystem.
Here are some info about the different ecological project:
- Reforestation
Reforestation is the process of replanting and restocking existing forests with native trees. This process is mainly done to forests and woodlands that were once lush but have been destroyed because of logging and slash and burn method. Reforestation can help reduce the incidence of flash floods, while at the same time it controls pollution and dust. - Day lighting Streams
Day lighting stream is a method used to restore a stream to its original and natural state. It is mainly utilized to improve the surrounding ecosystem as well as to develop the natural draining system.
